Coming into high school, I was a very inexperienced athlete. I had only played youth basketball for 2 years prior to entering high school. My freshman year at Springfield Central High School in Springfield, MA was a turning point for me. With the help of Steve Martin, Valdamar Brower, and Christian Ferrera over at Excel, they were able to turn me into the athlete that I am today. Whether it be on the field, in the weight room, or in the classroom, I was always pushed to be the best student-athlete that I possibly could be.

From playing junior varsity my freshman and sophomore to having a starting spot on the varsity team my junior and senior year, I started to gain accolades from the surround Western Mass area and the state of Massachusetts. During this time I also started to gain recognition from colleges across the nation including Syracuse, Army West Point, Duke, Wake Forest, Stanford, Notre Dame and Michigan. The recruiting process can be stressful for any 16/17 year old and Excel Sports really aided me in making sure I made sure I ended up at the right place not only for myself but for my family included. Finishing my senior year at Springfield Central, I finished with a 3.1 GPA, a First-Team All State cornerback, state champion, and I was able to sign my letter of intent to the University at Albany on a full athletic scholarship. Excel Sports Academy is the premier program to send your student-athlete to if they want to make it to the next level and maximize their potential. From driving up and down the northeast to one-day camps to grinding it out early mornings or late nights in the weight room, I wouldn’t trade one minute of it for anything in the world.

Overall my experience with Excel Academy has been amazing since day one. All the coaches take there time on developing each and every player that goes through their program to be ready for the next level of ball. Excel has opened many doors for me through football, without Excel I would definitely not be the skill I am right now and it is the best program in New England if anyone is looking for football training and trying to play football at the next level.

The recruiting process was one of the most stressful times for me personally. Watching everyone else get offered, being overlooked. hard work with coaches from the Excel training staff rom freshman year through my postgraduate year earned me over 12 division 1 offers and free school.

My son Joey has been training with Excel Sports NE for just over a year now. If you’re looking for the best position and strength/conditioning training in New England, look no further.

The commitment the staff has for the kids is outstanding! Steve Martin’s passion and love for the kids shows with his tireless work ethic. Tommy Guy’s calm demeanor and methodical approach to teaching the quarterback position is second to none!

I couldn’t be more pleased with my son’s achievements on and off the field this past season. Being around like minded kids In the program with a desire to play college ball, drives him to do his very best.

Joey plays the QB position and after one year of both group and personal training with Coach Guy, his footwork, mechanics and confidence have improved 100%. All the hard work and offseason training has translated nicely going into his freshman year of high school.

Thanks Excel Family! Keep up the great work!

Working with Excel Sports Academy over the last 3 years has helped me become a great person and reach my goal of becoming a collegiate football player. Excel offers so many different opportunities for New England football players to get exposure. Steve Martin and his staff are on a mission to make New England football the best it has ever been. Steve has helped me in so many ways helping me plan my summer camp schedule and helping me get to them as well. He is willing to do anything to be able to help players reachtheir goals. There are endless opportunities with year-round camps and strength and conditioning programs run by Christian Ferrara. Ever since I began working with Coach Ferrara I have seen a serious improvement in my strength speed which translates into me
being a better football player. He pushes us to the limit every workout and makes sure we are staying on task. He creates a family atmosphere in the weight room that connects the biggest of rivals. Utilizing Excel Sports Academy’s recruiting and strength and conditioning services is a tool you can use to make your path to collegiate football easier and organized.
